Spanish for the written record
Paraguay keeps its forms, registers and court papers in Spanish, so an English record from Reading needs a Spanish text with it. The translation is built sheet for sheet and keeps the layout of your page, which makes it easy for a reader to line the two up and confirm that nothing has moved.
What the certificate carries
The accepted form is a certified translation with the translator's certificate of accuracy. That page states the source language, the target language, the translator's name and standing, and the date. It is fixed to the bundle. A certificate sent separately covers nothing, because there is no way to tie it back to the sheets.
Counting the cost
Work is priced by the page of the source at about £25 a page, so a file of eight sheets costs eight times the page rate whatever those sheets carry. Standard delivery is 2-3 business days and the express lane finishes within 24 hours, which suits an appointment already in the diary.
Before you send anything
Make sure every sheet in your scan is complete, including anything printed on the reverse. Never put an irreplaceable civil record in the post for a translation job. Where a fresh paper copy is wanted, Reading Register Office at Civic Offices, Bridge Street, Reading RG1 2LU issues certified copies of birth, marriage and death records.
