Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how DocSeal ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects personal data when you use our website and services. We are committed to handling your data lawfully, fairly, and transparently, in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and, where it applies, the EU GDPR.
Information we collect
- Information you provide — your name, contact details, and the documents and details you submit for legalization or translation.
- Usage information — basic technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and pages visited, collected to operate and improve the site.
How we use your information
- To provide the services you request, including submitting documents to the relevant competent authority.
- To communicate with you about your request and respond to enquiries.
- To comply with legal obligations and prevent fraud or misuse.
Sharing your information
We share your information only as needed to deliver the service — for example, with the government authority that issues an apostille, or with shipping and translation partners. We do not sell your personal data.
Data retention
- Copies of documents you upload — deleted automatically within 90 days of your order being completed.
- Order, invoice and payment records — kept for 6 years, as UK tax law requires us to keep accounting records, then deleted or anonymised.
- Enquiries that did not lead to an order — kept for 12 months, then deleted.
Original paper documents are never kept: we return them to you, or you collect them from our office, once the work is done.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected].
Cookies
We use only the cookies necessary for the site to function. We do not use advertising trackers.
