Terms of Service

Last updated: September 30, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the DocSeal website and services. By using our website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms.

Our services

DocSeal provides document-authentication services, including apostille, embassy legalization, and certified translation. We act as a facilitator: we prepare and submit documents to the relevant competent authorities on your behalf. We do not issue apostilles or legalizations ourselves — those are issued by the designated government authorities.

Your responsibilities

Fees

The price shown at checkout is the full price for the service you choose. It includes the government fee for the apostille or legalisation and VAT. Delivery, courier collection and any optional extras you add are shown as separate lines before you pay, and the total you see is the total you are charged.

Cancellation and refunds

If you are a consumer, you may cancel your order within 14 days of placing it without giving a reason. To cancel, email [email protected] with your order number. We will refund you within 14 days of receiving your cancellation, to the card you paid with.

If you ask us to start work during the 14-day period, as our checkout asks you to confirm, and then cancel, we will deduct a proportionate amount for the work already done, including any government fee already paid on your behalf, which the issuing authority does not refund. Once the service has been fully performed, you no longer have the right to cancel.

These rights come from the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and do not affect your other statutory rights.

Timelines

Processing times are estimates and depend on the relevant authority. We are not responsible for delays caused by government authorities, couriers, or incomplete or incorrect documents.

Disclaimers and liability

We provide our services with reasonable care and skill, but we do not guarantee that a particular authority or institution will accept a document, as acceptance is at their discretion. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim relating to the services is limited to the amount you paid for the affected order.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the applicable law of the jurisdiction in which DocSeal operates. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, with the "last updated" date shown above.
