Work and residency files
The largest group by far. An employer or an agent asks for proof of who you are, what you studied and where you have worked. Most of that is already in English if it came from these islands; the pieces that came from elsewhere are what need writing. Sorting the folder on that line first is the fastest way to see what the job really is.
Study places and family papers
Admissions files live or die on transcripts, and family files on registry entries. Both reward care over speed. A transcript needs its grading scale, its course titles and its credit values intact. A registry entry needs names and numbers matched against every other paper in the bundle, because the reader will lay them side by side and compare.
- Transcript plus the grading scale printed with it.
- Marriage or birth entries where dependants are involved.
- Employment letters issued in a language other than English.
What it costs and when it lands
The rate is £25 a page, counted from the scan by sides of paper as issued. Standard work takes 2–3 business days and the express route closes in 24 hours. Since only the non-English sheets are counted, a thick folder often produces a short job, and the number is settled with you before a translator begins.
