The signature is the product
Strip the job back and what you are buying is a signed claim: this French text says what the Scottish paper says. The sworn translator makes that claim in their own name. That is why the credential is written on the set, why the date is on it, and why the wording is kept close to the source even where a smoother phrase exists.
What crosses over from the source
Everything on the sheet is treated as content, not decoration. Stamps become a described stamp. An illegible word becomes a marked gap rather than a guess. A signature becomes a note that a signature is present and whose it appears to be. This is why the French version can run slightly longer than the English one, and it is a sign the work was done properly.
- Seals and stamps, described where they cannot be reproduced.
- Handwritten additions in the margin, in their place.
- Registry numbers and reference codes, copied exactly.
Cost and clock
The rate on this corridor is £25 a page and the standard turn is 2–4 business days. Express handling lands in 24–48 hours. The count of pages, the language pair and the finish date are all agreed at the quote, so the only thing that can move afterwards is a page you add yourself once you realise the office wants an annex you had forgotten.
