A title held by a person
Bosnia and Herzegovina asks for a sworn signature, and the person who gives it is a court-appointed translator, known there as a sudski tumač. A court hands that title to a named individual after testing them, and it can be traced back to that court. So the Serbian pages are not simply correct; they are owned. If a word is later disputed, there is one name on the sheet to answer for it.
Why the language is Serbian
Papers used in Bosnia and Herzegovina must be readable by the office that receives them, and Serbian is the language required for this route. A certified translation into Serbian in Newcastle upon Tyne covers the whole sheet, not just the parts that look important: the header, the reference number, the fee line, the registrar's title and every word inside a stamp. A gap on the page reads as a gap in the record.
Per-page cost and how long it takes
Price follows the paper. The rate is £25 for each page as issued, so a short certificate printed on both sides is two pages, and a long court sheet is still one. Time follows the scan you send. From a clean image, standard work runs 2–4 business days, and the express route closes in 24–48 hours. A dim phone photo is the one thing that reliably adds a day, because each blurred name must be queried before it can be written.
Fix the English sheet first
Settle the source before any Serbian is written. If your name is spelt one way on a certificate and another way on your passport, decide now which one is right, because the translator follows the source exactly and will not quietly tidy it. Worn, torn or amended records are worth replacing at the outset. Newcastle Register Office issues a fresh copy of a civil record, and starting from that clean sheet saves a round of queries later.
What happens when it is handed in
At the receiving desk the set is checked as one bundle. A clerk looks for the signed statement, the seal, the date, and whether the Serbian sheet plainly belongs to the copy behind it. Keep the three parts together and do not unstaple them for filing. A notarised version can also be prepared where the office asking for your file wants that extra layer on top of the sworn signature.
